Morro Bay Book Discussion Group – free program at the Morro Bay Library, funded by the Morro Bay Friends of the Library

We are made up of a community of readers and students of life interested in learning and exploring different genres of books and literature. Come to any or all sessions!

Morro Bay Library Book Discussion Group

The Book Discussion group meets the first and third Wednesday of every month from 10AM until noon. If you like the idea of discussing books you have just read or just want to learn more about a book before you read it, this is the place to be! Participants will have a chance to read and discuss anything from the latest bestsellers, classics, traditional literature, historical fiction, mysteries or non-fiction books. Join us in animated and thoughtful discussion as we explore a variety of diverse and interesting books.

March 6: “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” by Mark Sullivan, discussion led by Helen Burton

March 20: “Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity” by Katherine Boo, discussion led by Jan Goldman

April 3: “Saving Fish From Drowning” by Amy Tan, discussion led by Jeanette Rattner

April 17: “The Hellfire Club” by Jake Tapper, discussion led by Bob Pipkin

May 1: “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng, discussion led by Natalie Ramos

May 15: “1984” by George Orwell, discussion led by Sharon Manning

June 5: “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman, discussion led by Rebecca Amato

June 19: “In the Midst of Winter” by Isabelle Allende, discussion led by Kelly Smith

All book discussion groups meet in the program room at Morro Bay Library.  For the comfort of all, please come fragrance free to these events.
